MobileServ Limited, known as 4u Group, was formed in 2006 when Providence Equity Partners acquired the businesses from Caudwell Group via the Providence Equity V fund. The Group had sales of £766 million in 2007, currently employs approximately 5,700 people and is based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.
Phones 4U intially engaged with NES in early 2008 and since then has gone from strength to strength. The Phones 4u apprenticehsip programme is linked and embedded in their induction and career development strategy (known as ‘Grow’). The company is expected to enrol several thousand apprentices in Customer Service, Sales and IT at level 2 and 3. The Phones 4u model includes electronic assessments as well as a purpose built academy at Fort Dunlop in Birmingham.
Several NES employers are amongst over 150 top British companies who are showing their support for the Backing Young Britain campaign, a national drive to create new opportunities for thousands of young people during the recession.
